His wife Mary, daughter Claire, sons Aidan, Brian & Gerard and his father Charlie along with the extended O'Donnell and Gildea families wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on our great loss; those who sent Mass Cards, letters of sympathy and floral tributes and who continue to do so; those who attended Peter's removal in Sligo, the wake in our home and the funeral mass.
A sincere thank you to our wonderful neighbours and friends who were such a great support in our time of need, who brought food and helped cater for the people who called to our home and who continue to give us great support.
To Peter's former colleagues in An Garda Siochana, in particular Carrick-on-Shannon Garda station and the Sligo/Leitrim Division, our sincere thanks for all your support.
A special thanks to Fr Frank Garvey PP, Fr Turlough Baxter and Fr Michael McGrath for their pastoral care over the past year and all visiting clergy who called to our home and concelebrated the funeral mass; To Padraig & Annette Burke, for their professionalism, gentleness and understanding at a difficult time for our family; to the grave-diggers for preparing Peter's final resting place; To the Dolan family and staff of The Bush Hotel for the generosity shown to our extended family and friends; To John Blunnie (organist), the St. Mary's Choir and Aillie & Roisin Blunnie (Solo & Instrumental) for their musical accompaniment at Peter's funeral; To the ushers in the church on the day.
Many thanks to An Garda Siochana, Carrick-on-Shannon Athletic Club, Carrick & Leitrim Community Games, St. Mary's GAA Club, Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club and Michael McLoughlin Construction for their Guards of Honour on the day of Peter's funeral.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our deep gratitude. Mass has been offered for your intentions.
