Doheny - Birthday Remembrance of Connor Doheny, late of 140 Walkin Street, whose 13th birthday occurs on 1st April.
A smile for all, a heart of gold,
The very best this world could hold,
Never selfish, always kind,
Those are the memories you left behind,
Thinking of you Connor is easy,
We do it everyday,
But missing you is a heartache,
That never goes away.
Love always and forever Mammy and Daddy.
Connor
God called your name so softly,
That only you could hear,
And no one heard the footsteps,
Of angels drawing near,
The golden gates stood open,
God saw you needed rest,
His garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
Love you always Nannie.
Connor
A birthday wish for you today,
Not a card or present in the usual way,
But on a cloud written in gold is all our love "Connor" for you to hold.
Lots of love uncles, aunts & cousins xxx.

  • Connor Doheny Phelan: Anniversary of a True Kilkenny Cat

Packing boxes to return to Kilkenny,

Four years ago, that Summer day I

chatted with Connor at his house,

a Spring time memory that lingers

like the scent of a season and the

shells picked on a favouredocean shore.

Today, no cat is adopted, nor feline

named, no pet treated and no social

cause named, without casting a thought

along the lines of: What would Connor

    say? Would Connor agree?

What else can you expect? I am returning

to college to train as a Veterinarian

assistant, in my mid forties, no less!

  • Connor cannot be forgotten by anyone who loves children, or cats!

    A celebrated smile,

    A veterinarian of the future,

    A wisdom beyond his years,

A strength stronger than any fears,

Whenever life seems too much to bear,

I cast my mind back to Connor's voice,

and look for strength to continue to care.

I hug a cat and recall all life is a choice.
