CARTON WILLIE 1st Anniversary & Birthday Memories
Precious memories of a dear husband, father and grandfather who died on 18th March, 2008, also Birthday Memories which would have occurred on 23rd March.

God gathered all His angels and told them where to go,
I need a special gentleman, on earth he served me so.
This man sounds so remarkable the angels did reply,
Won't his family miss him, surely they will cry.
Oh yes there will be sorrow, his family love him dear,
But all their love won't ease his pain, I'd rather he was here.
The angels left God's garden and gathered round his bed,
They asked him if he was ready and gently stroked his head.
If our love could have saved you, you would not have died,
If our tears could bring you back you would be right here by our sides.

It's hard to face tomorrow when the one you loved has gone,
It's hard still to realise that life must still go on.
The heartache and the sadness may not always show,
People say it lessens, how little do they know.
Whatever happens in our lives we will always think of you,
And wish that you were here with us to join in what we do,
But we have beautiful memories, Daddy, of which you are a part,
For God has left a special gift of footprints in our hearts.

Daddy, God saw you getting tired when a cure was not meant to be,
So He wrapped His arms around you and whispered, come to me.
You didn't deserve what you went through so He gave you rest,
God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping so peaceful and free from pain,
I could not wish you back to suffer that again.

A fervent wish our Granda was here,
There are others, yes we know,
But he was ours, we loved him so.
